Hi all, just moved to Wales! a stone built cottage, @200 yrs old, on a windy hill! walls are @2 ft thick, rain comes through some windows, very draughty, put up temp double glazing polythene, blowing out into room! house very cold, and mould on window sills and window frames.
given that, i have two wood burners, bought two gas heaters, and just bought a dehumidifier, guess this is a summer time job, but as it seems to be penetration damp, what should i be looking at to treat the outside walls, once i have replaced the windows with double glazing, and filled any cracks, and repaired any leaking gutters etc.
too much information out there, all with conflicting treatments!
any help appreciated.
