Damaged car storage over xmas

Hi,

Not sure if anybody would know the answer to this but I'll give it a go!

Car was rear-ended at the weekend - other driver's insurance have agreed to pay for fixing it and we have quote sorted with garage. Problem is that the garage will not take the car in for repair until early January - the car boot is easily opened now so not secure enough to leave outside our house.

Is there anywhere that we could pay to park the car in a garage over the xmas break and then bill the insurance company (assuming they agree to it).

We're guessing that a normal carpark will not suffice so ideally it would be a lockup type thing that our own insurance company would be happy with.

Can you reverse it back to almost touch a wall (if a hatch back) this may even work for a saloon if you can get close enough? then without moving the car, there is no way to open it!??

Any way you can padlock or chain the boot shut from inside the car? get a torch, chain, padlock, let down the back seats to access the boot space and crawl in and chain the boot from the inside? maybe connect it down to the spare wheel compartment? Assuming your spare wheel is secured by bolts in the boot space?

Thanks for the ideas - not sure whether our local gardai would like to babysit the car but the locking with chain and reversing to wall might cover it. Wonder how this would be classed from an insurance point of view if it did get nicked - have we secured it or is it the equivalent of walking off and leaving the boot open!
