We have a very bizarre alcove in our bedroom which is about 6ft long and about 2 ft wide. It's hard to know what to do with it, but we were thinking of getting a sliding rail put in that would hold clothes hung one behind another, with a door.

Where would I find someone to make such a wardrobe? We're in the Ballybrack area?
 
Try Storage Solutions in Harold's Cross. Lots of clever stuff there for odd spaces like yours.

There's a place called The Wardrobe Man on Rochestown Avenue, just down the road from you. It's on the left as you go towards Bakers' Corner.

I don't know anything about it but as it's so close it might be worth a look?
