Sometimes you just have to laugh -
I have two BOI accounts, one for my salary and day to day expenses, and one that I pay my mortgage out of. There is no particular reason for it, just one is in my local branch and one is in the branch where I drew down my mortgage. So the only transactions are my mortgage and life assurance coming out.
On my (much used) day to day account I am not charged any fees as it is still registered as a student account (from 1990!). For two direct debits a month I am charged fees which is the last quarter were €9.40....anyway I rang today and got some poor little call centre guy.
So I asked him - are you charging me fees to pay the bank when I'm paying off the bank.
He said yes.
At least a straight answer!
