Hi guys,

My father was in Romania a month ago and bought currency from the bank in Bucharest. He had 435RON left over. Unfortunately he can't change it here in the banks/bureau de change. The bank told me today that it might be because Romania are changing to the euro in 2014.

I don't know what to do with this money. It's worth approx €100 and still in use in Romania but not recognised here as a viable currency. Anyone any advice?

Thanks
Lindsay

Rubbish. The bank is talking out of it's bottom. The problem is they don't want to exchange it as they don't normally deal in it. Your best bet is the bank in the airport. Other than that give it to someone who is going that way.

It is going to be a long time before Romania or Bulgaria enter the Euro. 2015 is an aspiration. Both governments have said not a hope of that happening in light of the current Euro problems.
