Anyone any ideas what Cuba is like to vist ? Best time to go etc?

I visted Varadero/Havana in Dec/Jan and the weather was perfect then. I think it gets very humid from May - Sept.
I loved the trip and would recommend it to anyone. It's cheap, has a charming culture, always sunny and a mixture of city/beaches to see within reasonable proximity to each other.

Is Cuba in the Hurricane belt? I think you are probably coming up to that time just now. After about Sept. should be OK in that regard.

Was there in November '04. Weather was perfect, warm but zero humidity.

Its the hustlers that will get you hot under the collar.
In Havana you won't be able to walk more than 10 yards without someone trying to get money off you.

And although it may be a communist country they understand Capitalism very very well.

You can't get direct commercial flights between Cuba to the US. (I think there might be some flights for citizens??. Heard something vague on the subject)

The Cuban government does not stamp your visa on entering as this could cause problems trying to enter the US in the future. From what I can rememember they stapled a piece of paper in my passport & stamped that instead.
