crystal sf wdm audio driver

My computer regulartly goes into application hang......a box comes up telling me the programme is not respondong.Occasionally the computer tells me that crystal sf .....must be installed.The way to do this is to do microsoft updates first and then update the cdystal sf....
However i have only dial up and i have tried and failed to update and wondering is it very difficult?
Any help or advise appreciated.

Is this your problem? If you need drivers or other updates that you cannot download on dialup then perhaps you could download them on somebody else's broadband connection and then save them to a portable medium (CD-R, flash drive etc.) and install them on your own machine. Bear in mind that to keep a Windows PC up to date with Windows updates and to keep it secure arguably makes broadband more or less mandatory these days.
