Crumlin Shopping Centre

Hi,

Has anyone heard any recent news on the progress of the redevelopment of the Crumlin Shopping Centre? Its such a waste the way they've let it get so run down, the area would really benefit from a renovated facility. Have heard there was planning permission granted but there seems to be no movement on it.

Its like an on-going myth that anything will happen ...

Suspect that in the current climate, there'll be no movement for quite some time. Big pity, was a useful centre, in a location which does not have a lot of alternatives for the surrounding suburbs, especially families without wheels. So, no holding of breath!

Personally I think the centre has the opportunity to be a gold mine for the right type of redevelopment, the surrounding area lacks a shopping centre. It need not be one of these mega developments. People just need a one stop shop .... supermarket, grocer, butcher, pharmacy, cafe that provides a reasonably pleasant atmosphere. In addition to the turning a tidy profit it would provide a great amenity to the local residents in the Drimnagh / Crumlin area.

Its a pity though, looks like we'll be waiting a while.
