I am from the North but living & working in Dublin permanently. My will is currently made out to leave my estate to my siblings, who still live in the North.
If I die, will my the proceeds of my estate be subject to inheritance tax laws:
1/ In Ireland
2/ In the UK
3/ Both Ireland & the UK (i.e. could inheritance tax end up being paid twice or is there a double taxation agreement)
I have checked the Revenue site but it doesn't make mention of cross-border situations. I also asked my solicitor when I was making my will but he didn't seem to know definitively.
Any advice appreciated.
