Cross border healthcare scheme

Hi
My daughter is getting braces in northern Ireland under the cross border healthcare scheme. We pay for the braces and when all treatment complete we can claim a certain amount back from HSE.

I have paid over 1000€ in 2024. It will be 2026 before the claim is submitted. Can i submit the amount paid in 2024 on a med 2 form?

I don’t think you can claim tax relief if there is reimbursement from any other source.

Correct. You can only claim tax relief on qualifying expenses that are not reimbursed elsewhere - e.g. by private health insurance, HSE, etc.
