Hi a newbie here,don,t know if i have posted in correct place,i have a small self administered pension,can i trade with an online broker and have my shares held in a crest account or do they need to be held in a nominee account,do not want the latter due to the risks involved,are crest accounts only for personal investors? many thanks.

There's nothing to say that a self-administered pension cannot purchase through an online broker. However, you'd need to check with your chosen online broker that you can set up an account in the name of "The AlexH Self-Administered Pension Trust" rather than in your personal name.

Check with your pensioneer trustee - I'd imagine s/he's had this query before.
