I was just wondering if a company is wound up in the high court by the Revenue Commissioners, does this mean there will be no creditors meeting?
Does anyone know the best way of finding out information on when/where a creditors meeting is due to take place? There must be an easier way than searching through the daily newspapers.
Hi Nick, if appointed by the high court it is very unlikely that there will be a creditors meeting.
What sort of information are you looking for?
Also, if you are trying to watch/monitor companies perhaps you should consider signing up to the likes of vision-net. They search through the news papers for you! Also issue company information at cheaper rates than cro.
it is unlikely, if you are looking for information you can contact the liquidator and ask what you want.
Also the directors are obliged to prepare a statement of affairs within 28 days and you can get a copy of this from cro. Also liquidator must file court reports and the first report is usually due within one month. You can also request a copy of thos report from the liquidator or the courts office if the liquidator is not help ful.
If you are simply trying to establish if you are likely to get paid just ask the liquidator about one month after their appointment andd they should be able to say with a degree of certaintity what the likelyhood is.
