Having never borrowed from bank and only ever having had one credit union loan, which was payed off before it was due, will I have a credit rating????????? And will the lack of one effect my borrowing potential

Only other thing is credit card which is payed off in full every month,

It shouldn't.

When you apply for a loan you are asked if you have any existing loans, when you say no they expect not to find any loans on their credit check. There must be plenty like you. In fact the register only lasts for 5 years so anyone who has not had a loan in the last 5 years will be in the same boat as you.

Card lenders now have the option to post customer data on the ICB, so the fact that you make regular, on time payments against it will show you in a positive light to any prospective lender.
