Credit Notes

Hi all,

I have a credit note for a shop which I recently discovered has been sold. I have tried to redeem the note from the new owner, but have been told by their staff that I need to deal with the previous owner. They offered to provide him with my mobile number, but I have heard nothing (unsurprisingly). Does anyone know where I stand legally with this? Would all outstanding creditors have passed to the new owner of the business or would they have stayed with the previous owner?

Thanks in advance or any help.

It depends on what the new owners bought from the previous owners. Is the new shop trading under the same name?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It's changed name. It was a small (furniture) store that has been bought by a company and is now trading in that company's name.
