Credit Card V Laser (Refund of Wedding deposit)

My friend paid a deposit for her wedding of €2000 by Laser Card. The hotel closed today and is in Liquidation. Has she any come re her deposit? I know if it was a credit card she would get her deposit back but what is the situation with a Laser?
 
I don't think you have the same protection with laser as it comes from your own bank account. Best bet is to phone the bank. I presume you are talking about Castletroy park hotel.

I had a close escape, I'm so glad I didn't book there
 
Thanks Niallers. Lucky you as it is the Castletroy Park Hotel that she had the deposit paid too.
 
With my laser card (ulster bank) it states I have to pay all amounts that I have authorised, and also if the bank receives any refund, they will apply this back to my card.

She got a phone call from them today. Not sure yet if she is going to stay with them as she has been offered some great deals with two other hotels.
