Credit Card - strange transaction

Got my Febuary credit card bill and all ok on it except for one transaction for 120 dollars going to some Romianian site - queried by Credit card company and they got details off this company. This amounted to just my credit card number.
Credit card company says that they don't have to tell me what I am supposed to have bought off this site.
I assumed company would have at least needed the following
- credit card number
- number on back
- my name
- my home address
- Delivery address if different
- expiry date

Any help would be appricated
 
As them to do a chargeback if you didn't authorise this payment. Basically this involves following the transaction/paper trail back to the retailer and verifying (or not) that appropriate authorisation was provided. This happened to me before when my card number was (presumably - since I had never used it online or for card present transactions prior to this) automatically generated and used for fraudulent transactions. The credit card provider cancelled my card on my request and when a chargeback proved that I did not authorise the transactions I received a full refund. Things may be different these days in relation to online transactions, excesses etc. though. Check your card's terms & conditions for more on this sort of stuff. At the time I read up on credit card fraud etc. at this site.
 
If you dispute this charge, it will probably take in total 2 months to come off your bill. Keep chasing it up with your credit card company.

I found AIB's chargeback to be very good I've mentioned this a few times.

When I "donated" some cash to EZBoard to keep AAM Ad Free, and EZBoard immediately started showing Ads I contacted AIB by phone, told them I wanted to get the cash back, they asked me to fax them the details.
I did and had the cash back in less than a week.

Note, this I wasn't disputing that I had authorised the payment, which could take up to 2 months to prove/disprove.

But I'd have thought a dispute about whether I received the service would have taken even longer, so I was impressed with how quickly they turned it around.

I'm sure by taking back my donation Brendan ended up having to Foot the Bill. So I probably wasn't hurting EZBoard, but that's a different story.

As far as I remember the subscription was covered by cumulative donations from others. In fact it may have been slightly oversubscribed leaving a credit balance on AAM's ezBoard account which was left there for the next time around (i.e. Brendan wasn't sipping Crystal from a Prada slipper on the proceeds or anything like that as far as I know! ;) ).

That's interesting about AIB refunding your account even though you'd authorised the payment. I may be in a similar situation soon. I ordered an item from the net. Item never showed up but delivery company's website said it was. Complained to mail order company. They said they'd investigate. They sent me a picture of the signature the person (allegedly) gave them. Nothing like mine, thank God! They asked for a scan of my driving licence to compare signatures. I was a bit pissed off but I want the item so I sent 'em a copy. Told 'em if the item isn't here in 7 days that I'll stop the payment. Glad to hear this is actually possible even when you've authorised it in the first place.
 
Several times that I've ordered stuff online An Post or the private delivery company have delivered to a neighbour's house (not always directly next door) because there was nobody home. Luckily I seem to have honest neighbours who dropped the stuff (including a DVD player and an MP3 player!) in when I got home.
 
You'll never guess where GLS logistics decided to drop my parcel! Eurospar down the effing road!!! Cheeky ba****ds or what? I was at home at the date and time they said they'd delivered as I was waiting for a taxi to the airport at almost exactly the same time. Got a call today from the supermarket manager asking me to collect it! Incredible behaviour from a logistics company.
 
Look on the bright side though - super service from your local supermarket manager! :)
