Hi,

I have an mbna credit card. I noticed they charge 2.65 % for non -euro transactions. Going to USA on holidays soon and would like to know are there other cards out there with cheaper commission charges?

Thanks

If you check the MBNA terms and conditions it states it there. It is not itemised on your bill but built into the overall rate once it is a non-euro transaction.

I don't think there are any cards with zero commission on non euro transactions.

A ptsb credit card is one of the cheapest for non-euro transactions. I think the actual rate they charge for US $ transactions is 0.75%, which, if you were going to use it a fair bit in the US, would be a fair saving on the 2.65% MBNA charge.

AFAIK the in-built charge for my BoI card is 1.5% for non-Euro transactions.

IFSRA have a CC cost survey which lists the forex and other charges levied by various cards.
