Credit Card bill

Hi,
I'm expecting a credit card statement in the post soon and will not be able to pay it all off within the time limit given. I was told by a friend if I registered my card online I could pay off the bill in installments without incurring overdue interest? Is this true? And does the same apply to paper bills?
Thanks.

You can pay in installments if you add the account to your online banking, but you will incur interest if you don't pay the full amount on time

Pay the amount outstanding by the due date and you don't incur (additional) interest. Pay anything, even one cent, less than the outstanding amount by the due date and you incur interest.

Whether you pay though online, or by using the paper bill, is irrelevant.
