creative zen v-plus

My boyfriend bought a 1GB creative zen v-plus the other day. and transfered some music onto it however it is only holding 254 songs. is there any tricks to fitting more songs on it, changing file type etc... or is this the best it is gonna do?

You could try reducing the quality of the tracks when ripping them onto your PC. I don't know if it is worth it however.
 
256 tracks = about 4MB per file, which suggests a fairly standard 128kbs rate. I wouldn't recommend going lower, but you could try .wma format, which is claimed to yield equivalent quality at a lower filesize (especially if recorded at VBR - variable bit rate).
