got a pressie/debt repayment of an iPod (one of the few gifts in the world that is better 2nd hand - comes full of music) - how do you create playlists?, can seem to do it on the unit so is it an iTunes (the program as opposed to the website) job?

Also, how do you get photo's on there, is it a click and drag type operation with iTunes?

You need to download iTunes onto your computer and register the ipod with it. BUT, you said it came with music? Unless you set iTunes to manually manage the music, the music will be wiped and updated with whatever music is currently in your iTunes library. iTunes itself is user friendly with plenty of help functions and setting up playlists and photos is well explained, once you get used to it you will find it very easy.

Regards.

Download Senuti (Mac Only - you may need a PC equivalent) to get the music from your iPod to your computer, if necessary.

Create the playlists within iTunes on the Computer. Note that you can create on-the-go playlists on the iPod itself.

Re photos, not sure how it works on a PC. On a mac, the iPod can be configured to pull photos from iPhoto (you tell it which albums you want synchronised).

All of this is managed within iTunes rather than on the iPod itself.

Best of luck.
