Hi,
My wife and I,both previously widowed, remarried three years ago. We want to gift her house to her married daughter, with a lifetime, irrevocable, right of residence for her unmarried son. The couple will be building a separate “granny flat” for her son, for which they will require a small mortgage.
Any advice on how best to manage this, would be greatly appreciated. (Everyone gets along great, at the moment, but who who knows what the future holds.)
Some specific questions:
1. Can anyone recommend sample rights of residence documents, or recommend someone in the Limerick area with expertise in this area.
2. How can we manage the banks interest, while protecting her sons rights. (Their BOI advisor recommends not mentioning the right of residence in the mortgage application, as they say the mortgage will be refused.)
