Cracked granite slabs for garden path - what to do?

New garden path just laid last week with granite slabs each about a foot-and-a-half width/length i.e. the path to shed is one slab in width. Grouting/adhesive/cement/whatever is all done/finished on the path.

With the rain from last night, I noticed that two slabs have cracks. Upon closer inspection these cracks seem to run to, and down the edges too i.e. the granite seems to be cracked through. However there is nothing to suggest that two broken slabs were 'fitted' together to make one full one, if you know what I mean. Its like an old dinner-plate cracked through but still holding together.

The gardener isn't finished with his work and will be returning this coming week.

Should I;

a) Him to take up and replace
b) Ask for spare slabs when they crack in 10+ (?) years
c) Leave alone. They're cemented down and they'll stay the way they are, without requiring corrective action until the next earthquake.

Very difficult to say without seeing. How bad is it and is it very noticeable? Discuss with your gardener. Also may be a good idea to go to one or two suppliers of granite to see if this is a common problem and what solution they suggest. How well do you know gardener, will he commit to replacing if problem gets worse, trustworthy, etc?
If a major problem in your eyes only going to annoy you in the future. If so is option one the way to go, even if short term hassle?

I feel that laying the granite slabs in the very frosty weather has brought about the problem you now have. The cement mix, with the required water would have frozen, thus leading to the crack.

This is granite ? Not doubting you but ... Well anyway, just want to be sure it doesn't get any worse. Rang the guy to have a look, he was half-offended !

He texted us next day, on the Monday morning to say he would be arriving to have a look - when he knew Mrs. Kildavin & I were away.

Rang me to tell me he would be replacing the slabs and did so in very quick order as well as finishing off the rest of the job. We're very pleased with the results.
