Coverting pc to pick up a wireless signal?

We have two computers at home. A compaq desktop which is in the attic and a laptop which we use downstairs. I moved the modem downstairs so it can pick up the internet signal better but am wondering can i convert my desktop (compaq purchased in 2006) to pick up the wirless signal? Thanks

You will have to install a wireless card in it. Easy enough to do as generally you put it in and itt should find the drivers required on its own.
 
Just get a wireless USB from ebay for €8 - i recently installed one on my sisters old computer - quick, cheap and easy.

Put a USB on a mates pc defo the easiest option.

Even in pcworld should be pretty cheap.
