Couple ordered to demolish house

I for one am delighted at this decision, the only thing I would query is why the Judge is allowing them 2 years to demolish the house on humanitarian grounds - they've already lived in it illegally for nearly 4 years.

I'm also surprised that neither the bank nor the engineer that was signing off on the stage payments for the bank never sought to ensure that the building was in compliance with the (non-existant) planning permission.

i think the judge was right to give them 2 years to demolish, it would have been very harsh otherwise as they still have to find somewhere to live!
