My house is within 50m of a fairly narrow bridge. The council will be doing a pipe laying project in a few months and I was wondering if anyone had any similar experience of this. My main concern is safety, I have 2 small kids that walk to school every morning, as well as to other destinartions.

What are the sort of things that I should ask the council to do. So far, I have thought of speed ramps on either side, maybe improved lighting. Anything else?

Re: Council traffic on ajacent bridge

I would contact both the Road Safety Authority and the Health & Safety Authority (esp the HSA - they are a powerful organisation) to check out the site regarding all safety issues concerning motorists, pedestrians, cyclists etc.

I have seen many instances where Co Council roadworks break all Health & Safety Regulations - eg. no proper traffic management, no temporary pedestrian walkways.
Health & Safety should be the no1 concern.
