I am interested in purchasing some agricultural land in rural Cork adjacent to my house and have a few questions:
1. What is the current (approximate) price for an acre of rough agricultural land? My brief survey seems to indicate about 10k per acre as asking price which seems high - are sale prices for land also recorded somewhere like house prices?
2. Approximately how much should I budget for additional costs (conveyancing, land registry etc)?
3. It's possible that the landowner will not be interested in selling the whole field but perhaps would consider selling a small portion - has anyone gone through this kind of process? What is involved?
Many thanks!
