Eastern Algarve is only now getting some of the attention that the Western Algarve has had for the past 20 years or so. I was in Cabanas earlier this summer. It's about 4 miles from Tavira (large traditional Algarve town - quite nice). Cabanas village itself is still fairly basic but unspoilt. Lots of cranes in the area. Stunning beach a short boat ride away from the village. Lots of potential - A place on the up definitely. We viewed the Costa de Cabanas development - good quality build. We're buying off plans - a separate development (Opomar). Also, there are three good golf courses 5 minutes drive from Cabanas.
