Cost of timing belt chage Skoda Fabia

Anyone know approximate cost of having a timing belt changed on a 2000 Skoda Fabia 1.4 petrol?

Also what is the recommended interval for this? Car has about 45000 miles.

Not exactly the same car, but my 1.4 Skoda Ocatvia was around the 400 mark for timing belt and water pump - that was about 14 months ago.

Kil did you use a main stealer or an independant garage?

Local mechanic - actually now that I think of it he did the annual service at the same time....so maybe that's not a good guideline price for the OP.

There is no manuafacter interval time for that engine scoda reccomend checking after the first 60k miles but for the safety of the engine i would reccomend getting it changed between 60k - 70k miles prices can vary most garages will want to replace timing kit which is recommended or the cheaper option is just to get the belt (not recommended) rough price would be about €205 plus to do complete kit
