Cost of solicitor for selling

I'm selling my Apt in Dublin and I'm wondering how much I can expect to pay a solicitor.

Assuming title is fully registered (might not be yet - depending on when and where you bought) the fees on a straightforward sale of a residential unit should be somewhere between €1k and €2k plus VAT plus outlay. VAT is 21% on fee and outlay should be circa €100-150. I would regard circa €1400 plus VAT plus outlay as reasonable (this would be about €1800 all in)
 
solicitor about 950 + vat + outlays- Approx: 1800/1900 euro.
 
Just sold an apartment in Dublin in December 2007 and told cost to solicitor including VAT and outlays was €1,600.

€950 + vat comes to €1150. It is hard (but certainly not impossible) to see how the outlays could add another €650. The normal outlays on a sale would not usually exceed €200

I have seen figures like this quoted before, and I must admit that it leaves me with a nagging concern that some solicitors may be quoting an artificially low 'headline' fee of €950 and then making it back on additional charges. This practice - if it is a practice - is not transparent and certainly not consumer-friendly.
