Cost of rendering external walls.

As we have decided to delay moving for another year we have decided to do the things that would make our home more unique amongst the neighbouring houses.
Our home was built in 1997 and the majority of the external wall are pebble dash painted white, but now with stains everywhere.
We will at minimum paint it after we add more insulation this year, but I was walking earlier this morning and noticed a house in a different housing estate that had been newly rendered and painted white and it looked simply beautiful.

Which got me thinking, the inside of our home is fairly modern but the outside is tudor style with red brick and really looks old fashioned.

Has anyone else got the external walls rendered and I would be interested in a rough price per meter, but also if they felt it was worth the effort.

I have looked online but some prices seem old and as materials are more expensive I just thought I'd ask.

Thanks in Advance

Not the time to even consider doing this...the cost of labour and materials for plastering is way to expensive. I got my external pebble dashed walls cleaned due to staining (red fungal growth) and it made such a difference to the appearance. It was a well known company in my corner of ireland and chemicals used were the correct ones.

Unfortunately our stains are from a multitude of mishaps, boiler water expelled after it had a fit.....leaking guttering all fixed but the stains remain and that after spraying " black wash" allover it....

What sort of insulation are you considering?

This sort of rendering is included when you get the house externally insulated

@Paul O Mahoney - I got an external garden wall rendered (and coloured) recently - approx 16 metres x 3metres for €1600. prices ranged from €1500 to €2100. It certainly made a difference to a block wall.

In previous home, I did get the external walls (which were pebbled dashed) spray painted - it made a HUGE difference to the house itself. Cleaned it up immensely and improved the kerb appeal.

How did you know the house had been re-plastered, or was it a new house? As regards your own house, is it a 3bed/4 bed, semi det or det? Cost of plastering a new house has become extremely expensive, never mind taking plaster, etc, off the walls and replastering it.

It's a 4 bed Detached, the other house is amongst others with that modern type dashing which I like even less.

The front on our house is rendered with red brick 50% from the ground up, and a lick of paint would spruce that up, but all other walls are pebble dashed, looks terrible going to get painter to have a look.

Wed need scaffolding too, so its probably more hassle and don't know if it would increase the value of the house.
