Wondering what the approximate would be to remove an 11 foot internal supporting wall between the living room and kitchen and inserting steel support beam.
The house is a bungalow and the joists run perpendicular to the wall so I am guessing it is more cost effective to box in the support beam rather than to recess the steel beam into the ceiling.
Would appreciate indicative costings before discussing with "she who must be obeyed"!
