cost of labour per day

Does anyone know the average cost of builder labour per day for general home renovations? Does the price normally include Vat? I am using builders recommened from Louth as seemingly they are less expensive for labour than Dublin prices. Also would it be normal to add commute costs as an extra? Its half hour drive.

In relation to my first post above. Maybe I should explain. I got quotes for specific jobs, but there were unforseen problems causing extra labour and material costs. I kept asking for the an updated quote. Eventually, now that renovation jobs are near completion, I got 2 things from builder. One was an unitemised list of materials with the cost and supplier only listed(I have asked for the matching invoices). The other was weird as it said 115 days @ €130. They only worked about half the amount of days so effectively it is c€260 per day. Also there appears to be a cost separate for diesel. I never agreed or discussed a daily rate. I now feel my head is over a barrell as I have a deadline in 2 weeks time.

180-200 euro for 8 hours a day is about right for a trades person.
This allows for van,tools and insurance if the labourer is fully legit and tax complient.
