Cost of conveyancing in Dublin

Hi all,

I've been quoted some €3,000 plus VAT for the conveyancing for selling my house (about 0.34% of the selling price).

I've been advised that it would cost me about 0.5% of the cost of the purchase price of the new house.

All other costs are itemised separately.

I imagine I'm being overcharged here and can do better by shopping around??

I paid over 2k in late 2022, including VAT. It seems a lot. I did get a breakdown of everything right down to printing and postage.

There was a very detailed thread on this somewhere here in the past year. I know that for a fact because I listed on it a series of prices charged on urban and rural house sales invoices that had crossed my desk in the line of my work.

Conveyancing Fees

I am in the process of selling a house and the solicitor has most of the work done. What should I expect to be charged as a fee for this work. We have not had any discussion re fees. How do legal fees for selling compare with fees for buying. I have a good relationship with the solicitor and...
