Just wondering if a person had a heart attack and was admitted to hospital where they had to spend 10 days and get full treatment.....how much would the cost of the stay and treatment be for someone who did not have health insurance.
There are no hospital charges for public inpatient care or day service care. The removal of these charges was announced as part of Budget 2023 and came into effect on 17 April 2023. Inpatient and day service charges still apply for inpatient and day service care up until and including 16 April 2023.

If treated privately probably tens of thousands?
But it depends on the nature of the treatment and accommodation provided.
A "heart attack" could involve a wide range of treatments and/or surgery.
Irish men are facing bills running into the tens of thousands of euro to get treatment for the typical health problems they are likely to run into over their lifetime. Life-saving surgery could cost more than the average industrial wage. Many men don't have this kind of money.
For elective procedures probably.
"Heart attack" is very vague but sounds like an emergency.
At least dealing with the immediate issues whatever about longer term issues.
It's very difficult to answer such vague questions authoritatively.
