Hello
I need to make a payment of approx GBP 11,668 to a UK hospital.
Am I better off:
(a) Doing a sterling international transfer for 11,668 (where I would buy the sterling at the rate that either UB or AIB supply me). There will be a 21 euro charge from UB for this.
(b) Doing a euro international transfer of the euro equivalent of GBP 11,668. The exchange rate for incoming euro payments in Barclays in the UK would then apply, and also I assume their charges for incoming payments. I would only pay 0.51 though for doing this.
(c) Paying using Sterling bank draft
(d) Paying by an MBNA Visa Card
(e) Any of the above as the difference in costs/exchange rates is neglible
Thanks!
