Corsa Dashboard problem

My wife drives a 03 Corsa. Over the past couple of months the brake warning light on the dashboard has occasionally been blinking on and off when she is driving. The handbrake is not on and the break fluid level is ok. On one occasion recently all the dashboard controls failed when she was driving. They returned to normal, although the warning light continues to flash on and off every now and then.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? And are the dashboard controls likely to fail again?

Take it round to the Opel maindealer and get them to connect it to their computer to check for faults. This in itself might resolve the problem.
