I am renovating bathrooms and have put limestone tiles on the floor.
I would like to use the same stone for counter tops for wash basins but have been told limestone would be too porous and would stain.
Does anybody know what type of stone I should use?

Generally a marble or a filled travertine would be ok to use for bathroom worktop or sink. These would be the stone materials most commonly used. You can even get a travertine bath or shower tray so they are quite safe to use in terms of water. They would need to be well sealed, but I imagine that most manufacturers would do this for you.

Do you know? Could you use a limestone, and (wax and) seal it thoroughly?
Would need regular re-sealing as well I presume?
