Our 02 Corolla's starter's been sticking for a while.Was told it's water that got in during the floods.This morning,it won't start at all! I suspect it's the severe frost we have 'round these parts. Anyone had a similar problem?? It should start with a tow,though..... right?!
 
Yeah a tow should start it.

Get up to speed then into 2nd gear and pop the clutch the engine should start.

Once going get the starter sorted should be pretty cheap.
 
You were right,Frank-started with 2 ft of a pull. Starter's pulled out now.....
 
A friend has a 02 Corolla. Had the same issue. A rapid ticking noise when trying to start it. Was convinced it was the starter. Turned out to be the battery. If it's the original battery, it could be that. Try another battery first.....
 
Twas water in the solenoid,alright.All rusty inside. Sorted now (I hope!!_
