Can someone give the story on how this came about?

This timeline of events seems to indicate the clubs delegates voted in favor of the board appointing selectors, however, arent the delegates only representing the clubs so shouldnt the players just be approaching their club delegates to get the board to rescind that decision, and if they dont, then get another delegate? Must be more to it then that.

The players don't like the procedure that the GAA in Cork put in place and they think that they have the right to force the county to change them. The local GAA don't think the tail should wag the dog.
That's my take on the situation, I'm open to correction.
