Hi there,
If you are named in a will and request a copy of that will from the executor of an estate, what exactly do you get?

A beneficiary is entitled to be given details of any part of a will that pertains to them- whether that be by transcript, or photocopy. It does not matter what relationship they bore to the deceased.

Once admitted to probate, the will becomes a public document and can be viewed in its entirety after paying a nominal fee to the Probate Office.

If you are shown the part of the will that pertains to you, and it does not give you the asset promised, then is it not obvious that you are not benefiting as you think you should? It is then time to obtain legal advice if you feel you have a case.
