We have a new house under construction and getting frustrated with the builder. They are nearly finished plastering and windows in, first fix finished. However guys turn up for a few days then dissappear and other trades cannot start because the first guy didnt do his work. Realise this is down to builder, wondering if anyone has experience of dealing with this type of situation . Our contract states twelve months term we are at seven months so as far as I can see we cant put too much pressure on builder who is fairly reasonable and we are very pleased with quality of work etc to date. Thanks.

If you've got five months to go and are approaching second fix, it's good going. Once the plastering is done, it's pretty much downhill from there as long as you nail one of the plumber's feet to the floor!

Hey i think this happens whether you go direct labour or contractor. Our plasterer has been with us for 8 wks on and off. He should be finished by saturday.
We are at same stage as you after 9 months.Tiler is starting upstairs next week, and plumber is starting 2nd fix saturday week so hopefully the screed floor will be down by the end of the month. Hope to be in for Christmas but who knows with the way the tradesmen come and go.

But if the contractor has 12mths then you should be in at the end of that!! best of luck
