CONVERT function in Excel ...

The area of the rooms that I have are 607 square feet. When I tried to convert this to meters in Excel, I got 185.01 (instead of 65).

Here's the function I used in Excel =CONVERT(A1,"ft","m") where A1 contains the value that I want to convert.

What am I doing wrong??
