Consulting (life sciences, biotech)

Hi there,

I have been thinking about applying for some (junior) consultant positions I have seen in a company that is involved in consulting for biotech and life sciences companies (I have a biology background).
However, I have very little clue what these jobs really involve day-to-day, whether it is enjoyable work, what are the advantages and disadvantages, etc.
Does anyone work in a position like this or know much about this area? Any opinions on this kind of career? I would be grateful to hear any of your thoughts,

Moll

Hi Moll,

it depends what company you go to and the timelines/pressure involved. Honestly I'd need a bit more detail on the roles you're considering to give you an informed response.
Just FYI I'm employed as a 'consultant' working on a pharma site, mostly validation and production work.
It suits me well, as it's interesting work and seeing as I'm not 'staff' I don't get dragged into the political power struggles. Us consultant types usually keep our heads down and just do the work!
Feel free to PM me if you want to know more.

Serenn.
