We booked our honeymoon in the Maldives but we now got informed that there is some fairly major construction work happening while we are there. The island is 250m wide and 500m long so any development will impact us. What are our rights in terms of changing the booking? The resort has a sister island which is slightly more expensive should we be given the choice to stay where we booked or be allowed to transfer the booking to the sister resort? I don’t mind paying the extra cost of moving to a more expensive resort but I don’t want to be hit with a penalty for altering the booking.
