Conservatory Roof Blinds...how good?

I have a conservatory with a glass roof. You can guess the problem...too hot in the summer and too cold in winter. I am thinking about getting blinds for the roof but I gather this is not a cheap option. I also find it hard to determine how effective these blinds are at keeping in heat at winter time. Has anybody any experience of these roof blinds? Thanks.

Just an update.. I had a blinds specialist company around. They quoted ~€4.5k for the roof blinds for the conservatory. However, I'm still not convinced that these blinds will provide me the insulation I need..they looked wafer-thin. Also, the roof blinds require wires to straddle across the roof so they don't fall down. This will look gruesome. Anyhow, my latest thinking is to use insulating film on the roof. This is kinda like cling film but you can buy the proper stuff from B&Q etc. The roof is double-glazed as is so I'm thinking that this film will make the roof like a poor-man's triple-glazing (or 2.5 glazng). I suspect that the insulation will be as good as the blinds at about 0.5% of the price!

As this is a regular problem with conservatories you would probably be better off changing to a sunroom but it won't be cheap. You may also need to check out the foundations. It has been mentioned before on AAM that the extra weight from the heavier roof may need to be taken into account. Not sure if this is correct.

Roof blinds don't work had them for a few years and the heat from the sun caused them to disintegrate .in the end just had to change to a sun room this was very expensive as the foundationf had to be worked on but in the end the room is great to use.The conservatory even double glazed +blinds could not really be used all the time
