Confused by rules for Maternity Benefit

I am due to go on maternity leave in 2010 and will have paid at least 39 weeks PRSI in the previous 12 month period, as per the requirements.

However, it states the maternity benefit is based on your gross income in the Relevant Tax Year (which is two years prior to when your maternity leave starts)

I don’t any earnings for that year, 2008, as I was on career break.

Do I still quality for Maternity Benefit, in this case?
 
Im due to go on leave at the end of july i sent my forms in the beginning of June, I got an acknowledgement to say its being assessed.how long does confirmation take to come through of how much benefit you will be entitled to?
