Hi all,

I am currently filling out an ESB connection application form.
One of the things they look for is how many KWs your heating system is.I am going for a oil fired condensing boiler(not sure of make as plumber is away,so cant get info from him)

Has anyone else filled this form out or does anyone know the average wattage for a condensing boiler. I presume they are only looking for the power consumption of the burner etc.

depends on the size of the boiler, 18 kw, 24 kw and 30kw, these are the nomal sizes for domestic use

I think they only want the KW of your heating system if it's electrical.
The combined wattage of your condensing boiler and circ pump would be about 250w.
What you put on the form is not that important anyway, they'll only give you 12KVA for a regular domestic supply. Anything more than that will cost extra.

That question refers to heat pumps for geothermal it is not applicable if you are using an oil condensing boiler
