Computer can't detect digital camera

Hi, had to do a computer restore recently, up to then had Canon Ixus 60 software installed & everything worked fine but after computer restore I installed discs that came with camera, I see Zoombrowser in Programmes but when I plug lead into usb to download photos to computer nothing is happening & in control panel under scanners/cameras the screen is blank, it's like as if the computer doesn't know I've plugged in lead for camera.
 
Firstly try a different USB port.

Secondly look in My Computer when camera attached and powered on to see if you can browse the cameras contents directly.
 
Tried both USB ports & neither works, in My Computer don't see camera contents.
 
Looks like that's what I am going to have to do. I'll think twice before doing a system restore again, it's caused me endless headaches.
