Looking at importing a car from the UK within the next month.

Main requirements are as follows
  • Large enough for 2 child seats in the back
  • Would like an estate for the extra space
  • Reliability
  • Re-sale value
  • Good all round comfortable drive that I can be happy with for at least 5 years
Am looking at the following at the moment
  1. 2006 BMW 520D Estate (20.5K)
  2. 2006 Audi A6 140 2.0 TDi Avant (18K)
  3. 2007 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDi (13.5K)
The prices above are in Euro and include VRT.
All have very high spec.
Question is, is the BMW 7K better than the Skoda???

Is the Skoda a good car to drive or is it just big and luxurious? They mustn't hold their value very well

If you had 20K to spend would you opt for thr BMW / Audi or save a few quid and go for the Skoda?

What kind of mileage is on those, JMR? you might want to check if the Audi has a commonrail diesel or the older direct injection type like the Skoda.

So you may want to double check any calculations.
Alternatively, a particular model/engine might fall into a 'sweet spot', being less desirable in the UK, and hence better value.

Thanks for that, I've taken the actual C02 emissions and not the band from the dealers spec on their website and matched it up with available spec from Revenue's website.
Obviously VRT will be higher than expected if dealer has misrepresented the C02 emissions in the advert but I would double check that before travelling.

Add to this list 2007 Honda Accord 2.2i-CDTi Sport Tourer Estate (14.5k)

Any opinions.............?
