Company wont take back delivered kitchen.

Hi Guys,

I have recently bough a kitchen from a well known company and due to unforseen circumstances we no longer need it (we are selling our house).

The kitchen arrived last Wed. I rang the company we bought it off on Thurs. They were very unhelpful saying no way would they take it back after it had been delivered.

We went out to the shop and explained in detail why we no longer wanted said kitchen and why we had to sell the house. They were sympathetic and eventually rang me on Friday to say they would arrange a collection date with me today.

I rang this evening and was told that they would not issue a refund until the company that deliverd it agreed to collect it which is understandable but seems that they seem to be back tracking. We said we would deliver it back to shop ourselves. They said no we wont take it back to store it has to go back to England. I am so stressed at the moment and at a loss.

Can anyone give any advise as to anything i can do ???

I would tread so carefully not to annoy them in any way.

They have ZERO obligation to take the kitchen back & issue you with a refund regardless of what has happened to your circumstances. So you are very fortunate they have listened to your plight - you will just have to along with their returns policy & count your lucky stars!!

(I can understand why they couldn't take it back to the shop - these places normally have a shop front & then a warehouse elsewhere)

I understand that and they have been very sympathetic so i guess I just have to play the waiting game and not hassle them. Fingers crossed.
